The "Squirt"... how have we lived without it??

This just about does it for me. Having 4 kids, I've seen my fair share of baby care inventions. This tops them all.

I was at the grocery store last night and this strange object caught my eye:

SQUIRT the baby food dispensing spoon.

See, the fat end of the "spoon" is like a hollow bulb that you fill with the baby food. Then, you squeeze the bulb part and it "squirts" (thus the name) the baby food into the spoon part on the end for you to then feed to your child. Oh, and it even has a cap to put on the end!

I guess, for some people, the act of dipping the spoon into the baby food container is not complicated enough. AND they must enjoy washing out awkwardly shaped containers caked with sticky and/or dried baby food.

  1. It seems to me one of those cake-icing cones could do this more efficiently. That way, you can just stuff it in, instead of only having to do a small spoonful at a time. You see, it's all about capacity. Kids with chubby cheeks can handle more, so why not take advantage of this? If the kid is a miniature Louis Armstrong, you may be able to get the whole baby food jar's worth of food in at one time. Then you're done! No baby food on the lips, no boring waits between bites, it's all done. Now you can move on to more important things, like eating your Cheez-It soup.
